Yawn.

Yeah, I know. No updates in, like, two whole weeks. Work's demanding all my time. It's been a while since I've done this shit (y'know... worked at all) and I'm still getting into the swing of things.

So, anyway, the weekend is here. Yes, on Wednesday. Sadly, come the actual weekend, I shall be back at work. So, for now, I shall enjoy what free time I have doing absolutely nothing.

An aside: The Dangermen Sessions are good. Really fucking good. I don't care if you don't like Madness nor if you don't care for any of the original artists, this is a must-have album. Well, must-have if you appreciate music. Don't get me wrong, it's no Kind of Blue, but it's still pretty fucking good.

Diamond in the rough...

So, I went along to The Globe last night to support some mates in their endeavour to create... noise. It was pretty fucking ordinary (sorry lads, it's true. Take heart that almost every other band was about 1000x worse). Worse, I was one of about three people there not wearing clown makeup and fake blood, and the crazies seemed offended by my very presence. Seems that the experimental scene is full of fucking nutjobs (I really should've known).

That said, the band that followed on from Silent Partners were fucking amazing. Really. Fucking. Amazing.

The Tango Saloon, featuring Danny Heifetz from Mr. Bungle and calling Mike Patton's Ipecac Recordings home, play some of the craziest and awesomeist (if that ain't a word yet, it should be. Patent pending!) tunage I've heard since... well, Mr. Bungle. If you mosey on over to their myspace page you can stream a half dozen tracks of auditory ecstasy.

Honestly, listening to this shit makes me wonder if someone spiked my beer...

New Job

Yup. Working again. Nothing special to most, but with my role as the High Priest and Divine Champion of Procrastination means this is a pretty big deal. I didn't burn the place down today, so that's a start. The work isn't as mindless as I first imagined, so I shouldn't be all that bored, but only time will tell.

At least I have a long weekend of freedom left to me before I get into it full-time next week.

We should party. Anyone?

When in Rome...

LIPONA are a five-piece band from Tallahassee, Florida, with a sound described as experimental punk-rock ambience. Recorded mid-2007, their debut EP "Urbi Et Orbi" was released free of charge on their myspace page.

More than 12 months later the band have gone on to release their debut full-length, Atlas, and have recently completed the forthcoming "Pigeonholed" EP. But to take us back to where it all began, here's a copy of Urbi et Orbi, compliments once again of our good friend Khet over at Skatepunkers.

Triumphant Return... Triumphantly!

That's right, the template has been restored. The good folk over at photobucket reset their systems allowing me to steal (read: copy) the template images and transfer them over to my own server. Never again will ye be forced to look upon the White Screen of Doom.

In celebration of this momentous occasion, I have another gift...

Move along folks. Nothing to see here...
