Back at the Wheel

That's right, holidays are over. Sydney was... Sydney. Not a lot's changed in 10 years, and yet so much is different. The important things are still the same though.

  • Seeing Jodes and the kids was great. I was blown away by how big Bonnie is (11 now!) and how precocious (does that term still apply to 11 year olds?) she is. It was rather amusing hearing her tell Jodes she had no intention of getting pregnant any time soon. It's surely a relief. Little Thor is amazingly smart but puts those smarts to nefarious designs. He's already an Evil Genius - I shudder to contemplate him with another 10 years under his belt. Harley is... special. Jode took great delight in telling me he's a really good footballer. A really good footballer. It will have to suffice, me thinks. And Talon, well, she's about as lively as any 1 year old.
  • Seeing the lads was great, as always, though it turns out they've become a bunch of pikers in their old age (with the notable exception of Flip). First night down for Flip's b'day was a rager, but none of them were able to put in an appearance for the Grand Final the following arvo. Much disappointing.
So... back. I was actually rushed back up by the boss after we lost Jamie at work. Thus, I was forced to check out early, jump on a plane back to Brisneyland, then rush straight into work. On the fun scale that rates about a negative 42. By the time I knocked off on Sunday morning I'd been running on fumes for almost 30 hours. Not cool. I did manage about 6 hours shuteye on Sunday, but all that was undone by the total lack of sleep that was to follow come Monday and today (yes, I should be sleeping instead of blogging. Sue me). Thankfully, today is Friday (yes, on Tuesday), and when I knock off tomorrow morning my weekend shall begin. I'll catch up on all my sleep then.

Anywho - for those who missed me - no longer shall you be forced to do without my enlivening presence. I'm here to entertain/inform/annoy y'all once more.

Don't say you weren't warned.
